Lunch with Heath Pearce

The City of Frisco held an auction to benefit the Haiti earthquake relief efforts. There were a dozen or so celebrities that you could bid on and I was the high bidder on Heath Pearce. For those of you who don’t know, he’s a soccer player currently playing for FC Dallas. He’s been called up for national duty 31 times and has a pretty good chance of making the squad for this year’s World Cup.

We went to Babe’s Chicken in Frisco. If you haven’t been, you need to go. Great food. Make sure you’re hungry when you go – they do it family portion style.

Heath’s a funny guy and I enjoyed just shooting the breeze with him. Good times.

I was able to listen to the Allen Americans game today while I was at work thanks to SportsJuice.com. AA notched a 4-2 win over the Arizona Sundogs.

Tonight was the last night of our bowling week, and I had my worst game ever. We still had fun, though. Daniel made a styrofoam tiarra for mamma Angela.

I’m all set for the trip to Columbus on Feb 11. I just booked a flight for $192.50 on Southwest. AA wanted over $400 for it! My hotel room is reserved and I already put in for the time off. Go USA!!

Los Angeles and Dallas

I finally got to go home mid-June to see friends and take care of errands/appointments. I really didn’t have a chance to sit back and fully relax, especially since I worked most of the time, but I did have a little fun.

I started it off with a great trip to LA. The US national team started World Cup Qualifications on the 16th, and a few of us Dallasites made the trip. Not much to say about the game except they actually showed up this time. Oh, and it was
8-0! Yeah, yeah, it’s only Barbados. I know…it was still fun. The rest of LA was pretty much spent in pubs or our hotel pool. (by the way, there’s nothing wrong with swimming in your underwear when you don’t have your swim trunks!)

Back in Dallas, I just worked and ran errands. I did get to have a gathering with Inferno friends and with The Horde, though. I also managed to spend a day with my puppies who I miss very much.
